Mark Forbes Homemakers was originally Forbes Furniture and opened on 15th Sept 1983 by David & Sandra Forbes.

After trading for 20yrs the Business was purchased by Mark and Kelly Forbes in July 2003 and is the largest and longest established family-owned furniture business on the Eyre Peninsula. They employ 8 fulltime and casual employees and support and sponsor numerous local communities and clubs across the Eyre Peninsula.

Mark  Forbes Homemakers are members of Australia’s premier furniture and bedding buying group ‘Homemakers Furniture and Bedding’ this means using the buying power and ability of the group to then pass on the savings to the customer offering greater variety also.

They supply a large range of furniture for every room in your home, as well as an extensive selection on home accessories, decorator pieces and manchester to complete the look that suits you. They support Australian Made manufacturers where ever possible, offering a wider range of choices in colour, style and finish to create your special lounge, dining or bedroom suite.

Mark Forbes Homemakers is also the home of the EP’s only La-z-Boy Gallery, showcasing the famous La-z-boy Recliners and Lounge Suites and IMG Studio with their Norwegian styled Recliners, Relaxers and Sofas.

If you are looking for a great night’s sleep they also carry an exclusive range of South Australian made and owned Adriatic Slumber Mattresses plus mattresses from Stafford & Mason, Sleepfit including adjustable beds and mattresses from Tempur and MLily. They stock a range of solid timber beds and bedroom furniture plus metal and fully upholstered beds. A complete new look is also achievable with something from their full range of pillows, sheets, mattress protectors, quilts, quilt covers, cushions and throw rugs.

Mark and Kelly Forbes were both born in Port Lincoln playing sport locally and completing their schooling in Port Lincoln. They moved to Adelaide for approximately 9yrs with Mark studying an Associate Diploma in Building Design then working with a property developer and Kelly working in banking before they started their family. When moving back to Port Lincoln in 2000, Mark started working in the family business before Mark and Kelly purchased it in July 2003.

Since moving back, they have been actively involved in the community, being on committees, volunteering and coaching hockey and sailing.

They are proudly part of a local business established in 1983, employing local people and pleased to be able to give back to the local community who has supported them by supporting local clubs, organizations, sporting clubs and charities all over the EP from Port Lincoln to Wudinna. Mark has also participated in two 1000km charity rides for Ronald McDonald House Adelaide and recently been part of establishing the Treasure Life Charity Ride who recently raised $130,000 for local charities in 2022.
